I’ve wondered how people can view the God of the Bible as evil and tyrannical. Its absurd, akin to calling a Father who has only ever loved us and wanted the best for us evil.
so when i was reading the Psalms, i realized that the way we perceive God is more of a reflection of ourselves.
To the faithful, God shows Himself faithful.
To the pure, God shows Himself pure.
To the wicked, God shows Himself hostile.
He rescues the humble, but humiliates the proud.
So where we see hostility towards God, it is merely a reflection of how wicked we are.
It is the same with many absurd things going on today. Watching women say on camera that it is the right of biological men who become ‘women’ to participate in women’s sports. How can any self respecting woman agree that there is no difference biologically between males and females.
The Bible puts things into perspective. And it is something that we shouldn’t be alarmed at because it happened in the time of King David in Psalms 11.
The foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do?
And we have this respite. The Lord is in His holy Temple The Lord still rules from heaven. He watches everyone closely, examining every person on earth. The LORD examines both the righteous and the wicked.
He hates those who love violence. He will rain down blazing coals and burning sulfur on the wicked, punishing them with scorching winds.
For the righteous LORD loves justice.
The virtuous will see His face.
As i was reading through the books of Psalms, i realized that they are cries towards God in the midst of trials, wicked men prevailing, great distress. And the recurring theme that seems to be ingrained in the psalms is that where law and order fail, where the ways of God are forgotten and evil men have the upper hand, is the steadfast posture of running towards God for refuge. Of reminding ourselves that God is fully in control from heaven. Nothing that happens is out of His control. How we cave under far less wickedness and grow disheartened for the strength of those who hate God. Those who walk with God somehow look far less impressive nor respectable. But their comfort is in their God who watches each and everyone of us closely and remembers us for what we have done in our earthly lives.
